When split testing ads, should I copy the ad set and do it there (so every ad set has one ad)? Or should I keep the same ad set and put it in the ads section (so the ad set would have 2+ different ads)?

VIGNESH: Ideally you want to have 2 ads in the same ad set if you just want to split test the ads.

If you want to test audiences & demographics along with the ads (Male vs Female) you can use 2 ad sets with 2 different ads.

This article will help you understand the specifics.

Another Take: It depends what variables your changing. If you need different budgets, time frames, or to have multiple audiences then you will need to create a new ad set. If you are simply a/b testing the creative such as the copy, image, or call to action then you can have the different ads under the same ad set.
